" I absolutely love working with my patients.. I've been fortunate to be involved in many research, educational, and leadership roles, but more than anything I love working with my patients. Helping someone regain the function of their arm or leg, or learn to walk again, or be able to transition into their own home is the most joyful and fulfilling job I could ever find. I believe in my patients and help them to believe in themselves. I push them very hard, and help them reach their goals and maximize their potential."

“I love what I do as a physical therapist. My work matches my love of movement and enjoyment of people, and I consider it a privilege to use my skills and insights to help patients achieve their mobility goals. Each person is unique and I particularly enjoy getting to know that person, what is important to him/her and what therapy interventions will be the most effective."

"Neurologic rehab is my passion, from either working one on one with a patient or inspiring soon to be physical therapists to pursue neurologic physical therapy. When I transitioned to teaching, I declined full time work so I could maintain a clinical practice. I truly enjoy each individual interaction and the opportunity to assist someone in their recovery. I believe in every patient's potential and work hard to help them achieve their goals."

Not only do I get to be a part of my patients’ rehab journey, providing therapy and using my skills to help improve mobility and quality of life, I get to know each patient as a whole person. Even after 30 years of providing PT, I am still passionate about what I do, and that thrill of helping someone to walk again, or be able to do something that seemed impossible to them, continues to inspire me".

"Being a neurologic physical therapist is so deeply woven into who I am emotionally, physically and spiritually. To work with someone on optimizing how they move through their life in order to live it to the fullest is a tremendous privilege. " I consider myself lucky to have found a profession that fits. Every day I meet people confronted with physical challenges that are new to them, and figuratively ‘pull the rug out’ from beneath them. My challenge and my privilege are to empower my clients to rediscover themselves post injury. I’ve been in this profession for over 30 years now, and the joy that I experience with 1:1 care never gets old. I value hard work, having fun, morning coffee, fresh air and dogs!"
Teresa Fair-Field is a neuro clinical specialist. She entered the profession with a passion for brain injury rehabilitation after growing up around an uncle with a service-connected traumatic brain injury (TBI). In her 30-year career, she has served clients across the lifespan, including 15 years at Virginia Mason Neuro-rehabilitation in the out-patient clinic.
"In many ways, the restrictive environments in traditional health care settings don't do enough to reconnect people to the value of their everyday routines and favorite activities. That's exactly the sweet spot where growth and recovery meets purpose and our sense-of-self. The customized home-delivery model found at Puget Sound Neuro Recovery is exactly what my profession was based upon, and I'm thrilled to be providing care the way it was intended."

The therapists from PSNR are knowledgeable, experienced and have enormous empathy with patients and their families, and really listen to them. My wife and I are physicians and strongly feel that I would still be in a wheelchair if not for their care. I am now walking independently.

We can’t say enough amazing things about Puget Sound Neuro Recovery and Marie in particular. It was comforting from the first phone call with Vicki, to the bitter-sweet goodbye at the completion of goals. My young adult son was injured in an accident and I became his caregiver and Marie stepped in with the most loving and supportive approach! She made all the difference in him feeling that he could succeed at walking again and building back his strength. She was encouraging, tender and motivating every step of the way! She became one of the most important people in my son’s recovery, and looking back, it was like an angel stepped into our home. We even stay in touch and celebrate milestones long after his PT sessions were complete! What a gift Marie, Vicki and PSNR have been in our lives!
- Sarah Schmidt
As a caregiver / private duty nurse’s aide I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work alongside Marie while she provides physical therapy to my client. In a short period of time, I have witnessed my client progress from being bedridden, unable to bear weight or stand to walking and resuming activities of daily living. Marie has simultaneously built confidence and physical strength to enable such progress to occur. She listens to the needs of her clients and instinctively knows how much to challenge while continually providing assessment and attainable goals to achieve.

My Mom had a massive stroke and was in a nursing home for over 8 months. The therapists from PSNR were the first to speak the language of hope and motivation, and talk about walking and going home. Their knowledge, ingenuity, compassion, motivation and grit gave our family new hope. With their help, we got our Mom home to Hawaii to be with her family!

It has been so refreshing to work with someone who sees potential and pushes my dad to the next level.

Vicki helped my daughter who suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury learn to walk again and continues to help her to achieve independence at home to this day. Vicki is an integral part of my daughter’s recovery and how far she has come. I don’t have the words to adequately convey what a blessing Vicki has been to our family.
-Michelle Richmond
Vicki works with the whole person and her years of experience and skills developed working with brain injury rehab have been invaluable in Morgaine’s long-term recovery.
